	Our company is large enough to complete any project we undertake. We successfully completed on time the 16.8 million dollar office building for the Department of Social Services and are completing 13 million dollars worth of work for Cumberland County Schools. However, we are small enough that you will get the personal attention throughout the project by the company owners. We are a local company, and we believe this fact only has merit if the company is capable, competent, and financially sound, all of which characterize Ellis Walker Builders, Inc. Our experience includes design, design build, contract management, design assistance, and all forms of construction.

Educating and training our employees is an important goal of Ellis Walker Builders. Because of this orientation, our company provides top quality skills and experience for any job.

40% of our carpenters are AGC Certified "Master Carpenters"
67% of our superintendents have passed all five of the Carolina AGC forty hour supervision courses in preparation to be certified as Master Superintendents. The remaining 33% of our superintendents have completed three of the five courses and are presently taking the fourth course.
Our jobsite supervisors have experience in all types and sizes of projects. One of our project managers managed the 38-million Greensboro/High Point Airport Terminal Building.
Per the new OSHA requirements our superintendents are certified forklift operators
We have apprentice carpenters at various levels in the three year program and continue to add to those ranks whenever possible.

We established our own apprenticeship program in April 1997 to be able to set wages at a level where we could attract the best people.
We participate in the School to Work Apprenticeship in Cumberland County and we presently have one apprentice in that program.
We offer all employees reimbursement for approved courses that will help them improve.
Our Director of Safety Services has completed the following training:
- Safety Management Training Course by AGC of America - 40 Hrs.
- Carolinas AGC Total Safety Performance - 40 Hrs.
- Charlotte Regional Safety and Health School.
- Seminars on fall protection, scaffolding, manlifts and bloodborne pathogens.
We are in the process of establishing a Total Quality Management Program.
